The Institute for Psychoanalytic Education is a diverse collegial affiliation of clinicians working in psychiatry, clinical psychology and clinical social work, united in our dedication to patient care.
Since our founding in 1949 we have promoted healing, growth and the attainment of full individual potential through careful exploration of the human mind in all of its depth and complexity. We offer professionals the opportunity to achieve greater understanding, effect greater results and, ultimately, obtain greater fulfillment in their careers and personal lives.
We offer advanced training in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and our mission includes teaching, research, interdisciplinary study, outreach, and the provision of affordable services. We are chartered by the New York State Board of Regents to provide licensure-qualifying psychoanalytic training. We are affiliated with NYU School of Medicine, and we are a member institute of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
