Division of General Internal Medicine & Clinical Innovation Program for Medical Education Innovations & Research

We advance medical education and training that supports patient-centered, evidence-based healthcare.

NYU Langone’s Program for Medical Education Innovations and Research, also known as PrMEIR, brings together highly skilled clinicians, educators, psychologists, and biostatisticians to stimulate innovation and research on the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Established in 2006 as part of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation, the program’s mission is to advance medical education scholarship and institute best practices to support patient-centered, evidence-based medical education.

Our faculty development programs, curricular innovations, and research projects strengthen the link between healthcare professional training and patient health outcomes and wellbeing. The program focuses on these initiatives through multiple projects and collaborations with other educators, clinicians, and leadership throughout the NYU network to advance learning, development, and research in medical education.

We offer individual and group consultations on medical education research design, curriculum development, faculty development, performance-based assessment, data analysis, and the implementation and program evaluation of educational initiatives across NYU Grossman School of Medicine, as well as other NYU schools and colleges.
