Dr. Rodriguez-Sains is a 1977 graduate of New York University School of Medicine. He trained in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery/Ophthalmic Oncology at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He was Surgeon Director and Chief of the Ocular Tumor and Orbital Clinic at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital for many years. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University-Langone Medical Center and has been teaching there and at Bellevue Hospital since 1983. He has lectured nationally and internationally and written extensively on eyelid and eye tumors and cancers, their diagnosis and treatment, as well as on cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery.
He is active in clinical research on eye and skin melanomas and their association, and has published and lectured on this topic nationally and internationally. He was on the Medical Advisory Board of the Skin Cancer Foundation since 1983 and now serves as a Medical Consultant.
Dr Rodriguez-Sains is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
He has been recognized as a Top Doctor and a Super Doctor for multiple years and his name also appears in America's Leading Experts.
