Clinical Responsibilities

Dr. Protopsaltis is Director of the Bellevue Orthopaedic Spine Service and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center. He has unique dual training in spine and peripheral nerve disorders. He completed a fellowship in Spine Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center and a fellowship in Hand, Microsurgery/Peripheral Nerve Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia, New York Presbyterian Hospital. His clinical practice specializes in the surgical management of all spinal disorders as well as the differentiation and management of peripheral nerve problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome. His Major Clinical Interests include: Cervical Radiculopathy, Double Crush Phenomenon, Peripheral Neuropathies and Brachial Plexus, Injuries, Spine fusion techniques, Cervical Disc Replacement and Motion Preservation, Cervical Spine Deformity, Pediatric Cervical Disorders, Neck Pain, Thoracic and Lumbar Spine Disorders, Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Disc Herniation, Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, Pediatric and Adult Scoliosis, Percutaneous Spine Surgery, Microsurgery, Vascularized Free Fibula Transfer, Nerve repair.
