Clinical Responsibilities

Because of her long experience at the HHC, both Bellevue and King's County, she has a lot of experience with trauma and HIV/AIDS, and the other illnesses of the underserved population. She enjoys the city hospital environment, despite its frustrations, where the radiologist has more impact on patient work-up and management. She loves the fact that my specialty employs all modalities, often first, so that there is always something new to learn. <br><br>Lucy Frank Squire was her mentor; she taught her a great deal about how to use images in teaching students both Anatomy and Neurology, and also how to guide beginning radiologists in their approach to an image. She believes, as Lucy did, that what you figure out for yourself, you will remember always. She is grateful to the members of her division at NYU whose willingness to do more of the clinical work to afford her the time to guide others as they try to puzzle out a new problem is, I believe, helpful to those who are learning. Watching those they have helped train become fine radiologists and surpass her as investigators is an enormous reward. Having some of them choose Neuroradiology, perhaps in part because she has helped them to see how exciting and fun it can be, is the best of all.<br><br>In addition, she is the Fellowship Program Director of Neuroradiology at NYU, the Medical Director of MR and the Director of Neuroradiology at Bellevue, and a member of the Departmental Education Committee.<br>
