NYU Langone Medical Center’s comprehensive array of services provides a diverse range of hospital volunteer opportunities. All programs are non-medical and there are no doctor shadowing positions.
On average, hospital volunteers are required to commit to volunteering the same day, same time each week for at least 6 months. Commitment time lengths vary from program to program (4 – 12 months).
We encourage students to volunteer and understand that the time commitments of our volunteer programs do not always mesh well with high school or university semester schedules. We offer a select few programs that may be able to make accommodations, depending on the time of year and volume of applications. Please let us know if you need to work volunteering around a school schedule and we will see what is available.
MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE TO APPLY
Please note that while a position might be open for recruitment one day, it might be closed on another. It cannot be predicted which programs will have openings during any given week or season. Due to the amount of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to everyone. We will respond if we think you will be a good match for our programs that have openings.
Most positions are available Monday to Friday during the day with some also available on weekends and weekday evenings.
