Residents work at an interdisciplinary outpatient specialty clinic that provides long term comprehensive medical care and rehabilitation management to pediatric and adult patients with neuromuscular disease, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, among others. At the clinic, patients are evaluated and a treatment plan is coordinated that includes physical and occupational therapies, orthotic and durable medical equipment management, vocational counseling, genetics counseling, internal medicine, and orthopedics. The clinic is sponsored by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
