Geriatric Grant:
The NYU School of Medicine was awarded a grant by the American Geriatric Society to improve training in geriatrics for rehabilitation residents. Dr. Valery Lanyi in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation along with Dr. Lydia Rolita in the Section of Geriatrics are collaborating to redesign the geriatrics component of the rehabilitation residency curriculum. Residents will participate in a community-based multidisciplinary fall prevention program for the elderly as well as learn more about the risk factors inherent to this population. Congratulations to those involved.

Disability Grant:
The Curriculum Development Challenge Fund from the Office of the Provost of NYU awarded a one-year grant for developing a disability curriculum for rehabilitation residents.
Spasticity Grant:
Allergan awarded the School of Medicine a two-year grant for devloping a spasticity workshop. The first workshop was held in March of 2007; the next one is planned for Spring of 2008.
Curriculum Grant:
Allergan awarded a one-year grant to the School of Medicine for creating a "Teaching the Teachers" course for PM&R faculty.
