Plastic Surgery Elective Rotation

NYU Langone’s Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery offers third-year medical students an elective rotation in general plastic surgery that provides exposure to the entire spectrum of the specialty. Plastic surgery elective rotations are also offered to second- and third-year residents.

During the rotation, you explore a wide array of plastic surgery procedures under the leadership of Katie E. Weichman, MD, elective rotation preceptor. In addition to participating in clinical research projects, you also have opportunities to participate in basic research. We encourage you to individualize your participation to reflect your own research interests.

A typical rotation allows you to spend time on the plastic surgery service at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion, and on the plastic and hand surgery services at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.

For more information about specific areas of study, please view the description in NYU Grossman School of Medicine's course catalog.
