Primary Responsibilities
Dr. Lehmann is an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and is a member of the Developmental Genetics Program and the Director of the Skirball Institute. Dr. Lehmann is also the director of the Developmental Genetics Graduate Program which is part of the Sackler Graduate Program of the NYU School of Medicine and the Doctoral Program of the NYU Biology Department.

Graduate Education Dr. Lehmann received her Ph.D. from the University of Tubingen, . Germany. She conducted research in the laboratory of Dr. C. N sslein-Volhard where she identified maternal effect mutations that establish the antero-posterior body pattern of the Drosophila embryo. Prior responsibilities Dr. Lehmann was an Associate Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a senior member of the Whitehead Institute of Biomedical Research and an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, prior to joining the faculty of NYUSM.
