Clinical Education Program Teaching Conferences

Teaching ConferencesThe teaching conferences at Bellevue Hospital constitute a comprehensive core curriculum in primary, secondary, and tertiary care pediatrics. The teaching conferences at Tisch Hospital address a wide variety of problems in subspecialty pediatrics, in combination with case-based discussions of complex medical and surgical issues. Special curricula have been developed for residents in medical informatics and evidence-based medicine. At each site, residents have the opportunity to read and critically appraise the medical literature on a regular basis.

Residents also have the opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary teaching conferences. These conferences include:

  • Weekly pediatric Grand Rounds
  • Twice-monthly pediatric Morbidity and Mortality conference
  • Daily noon conference
  • Weekly Morning Report
  • Monthly Journal Club
  • Monthly Chairman’s Rounds

All housestaff are actively encouraged to attend the many other basic science or clinical-oriented conferences sponsored by other Departments throughout New York University Medical Center.
