Hospitals

The foundation of the Department of Pediatrics is the strength of the long-term collaboration between its premier municipal and private institutions:

Bellevue Hospital
One of the larger and more respected municipal hospitals in North America, and the cornerstone of training for NYU's pediatric residency program, with approximately 2500 pediatric inpatients, 2200 births, and 80,000 pediatric outpatient visits. Bellevue's dynamic Pediatric Emergency Service (PES) is a 911 receiving unit staffed by full-time physicians and fellows, and evaluates infants, children, and teenagers with severe trauma, poisoning, or infectious diseases.

Tisch Hospital
A 726-bed hospital and world-reowned center for the care of children with neurosurgical, cardiovascular, maxillofacial, and genetic disorders, Tisch Hospital serves as a focus for a diverse spectrum of regional patient care and is a highly regarded tertiary care center. Tisch Hospital is home to the Skirball Institute for Biomolecular Medicine and the Stephen D.Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
