Molecular Genetics Testing Laboratory

Molecular Genetics Testing LaboratoryThe Molecular Genetics Diagnostics Laboratory of New York University School of Medicine is affiliated with the Human Genetics Program in the Department of Pediatrics.

The Laboratory provides DNA-based genetic testing for diagnosis and carrier detection of over 10 diseases.

The methods include polymerase chain reaction (PCR), allele-specific (ASO) oligonucleotide hybridization for direct mutation detection and, restriction analysis.

This laboratory has been instrumental in the development and application of new methods for DNA diagnostics, including multiplex analysis of point mutations by allele specific oligonucleotide hybridization.

Additional tests are being added regularly. Please check back often for updated information.
