Bellevue Hospital Center

Bellevue HospitalBellevue lays claim to being the oldest hospital now existing in the United States. Currently, it is the flagship hospital of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation and one of the more respected municipal hospitals in the country.

Today, Bellevue has a total of 62 in-patient beds for children, which include the general in-patient service, and the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. Approximately 2,200 infants are delivered and admitted to its Low Risk (Level I) nursery each year.

Bellevue is home to a large Pediatric Resource Center which provides comprehensive longitudinal health care in a brand-new, comfortable, friendly ambulatory setting to a large population of children in multiproblem families. The busy Pediatric Emergency Service, housed in a state-of-the-art 3,500 square foot dedicated clinical facility, cares for approximately 23,000 acutely ill or injured children, adolescents and young adults per year.

Tisch Hospital This 726-bed institution serves as a focus for a diverse spectrum of regional patient care and is a highly regarded tertiary care center. In pediatrics, it is a world-reowned center for the care of children with neurosurgical, cardiovascular, maxillofacial, and genetic disorders and provides a wealth of experiences for house staff.

Tisch Hospital has 55 pediatric medical and surgical beds, plus intensive care units for pediatric and neonatal patients. The fully computerized Hospital Information System allows residents easy access to medical, nursing, and laboratory data on all patients.
