Private-duty nurses are professional registered nurses or certified nurse aides, contracted by you or your personal representative to provide one-on-one nursing care during some portion of your hospital stay.
Private-duty nurses can work in any unit except operating rooms, recovery rooms, intensive care units, post-operative care units, and special care units.
Private-duty nursing at NYU Langone Medical Center is provided by Access Nursing Services. Private-duty nurses are not employees of NYU Langone Medical Center.

The Private-Duty Nursing Office is located on the first floor of Tisch Hospital, Room TH-183, next to the hospital cafeteria.

Payment for private-duty nursing is arranged through the private-duty office when you place an order. Most insurance companies do not reimburse for private-duty nursing services.
