Clinical service is one of the three core missions that guide the NYU Department of Pathology and its NYU Pathology Associates. We offer extensive laboratory assistance for hospitals and outreach services, as well as for services with individualized arrangements for physicians' practices. For ease of reference, we have arranged contact information and specific handling instructions for you according to the subspecialty services that NYU pathologists provide in the column on the left.
We guarantee reliable, effective, and efficient diagnostic support. For urgent services, nearly all laboratory results are available within 24–36 hours. In such cases, please make sure that the specimen is marked "RUSH." For all other cases, the routine timeframe for our turnaround response is between three and five days, depending on the specialized testing involved. We do, however, frequently customize diagnostic and consultation services for referring practices, so that turnaround can be optimized for your particular needs. We welcome your interest in our diagnostic expertise. If you would like to find out more about making arrangements with NYU Pathology, please contact Joan Cangiarella, M.D., Vice Chair of the Department of Pathology, or Robert Papa, director of our faculty group practice NYU Pathology Associates, at the addresses listed below.
If you are a physician and would like to discuss a specific case or results, please call the main Surgical Pathology office at (212) 263 5470 or the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Biopsy Suite at (212) 263 5475 during regular business hours.
