The Bone Healing Center at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases is dedicated to providing an integrated team approach to the evaluation and treatment of complex fractures and problem fractures.
At the Bone Healing Center, we are pioneering new technologies and procedures to help patients facing a long and difficult recovery because of complex fracture reconstruction or problems with fracture healing.

Our multidisciplinary team of specialists work together to diagnose and plan a treatment protocol for each individual patient. They are:
Kennth Egol, MD Director, Bone Healing Center,
Specialties: Non-Union Fracture Care, Trauma
Dr. Egol is Chief of the division of Fracture Surgery and director of fracture research at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. His interests are problematic fractures, repair of fracture non-unions, and treatment of orthopaedic infections. Dr. Egol is committed to orthopaedic research and is extensively published in the field of fractures and trauma. He is a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of adult traumatic injuries.
Roy Davidovitch, MD
Specialties: Non-Union Fracture Care, Trauma
Dr. Davidovitch received his subspecialty training in the field of trauma and hip & pelvis reconstruction at Harvard Medical School. His interests include young adults with trauma care, fractures, pelvis fractures, hip fracture non-unions and avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hip. He performs femoral-acetabular impingement (FAI) surgery, repair of hip fracture non-unions and fixation of acetabulum and pelvis fractures.
David Feldman, MD
Specialties: Bone Healing Issues in Children and Pediatric Deformities
Dr. Feldman is the Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedics at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases has extensive experience in the treatment of pediatric fractures and limb deformity. Dr. Feldman treats patients from infancy through young adulthood and performs a variety of bone and joint preserving procedures including the Ganz Bernese Periacetabular Osteotomy and other complex reconstructive procedures.
Christoper Gharibo MD
Specialties: Bone Pain Management
Dr. Gharibo is the Medical Director of Pain Medicine at the NYUHJD Pain Management Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine and holds Special Qualifications in Pain Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include low back and neck pain of musculoskeletal and spinal origin, bone pain, cancer pain, and neuropathic pain syndromes such as painful peripheral neuropathies, reflex sympathetic dystrophy and many other chronic pain conditions. He holds particular pharmacological and clinical experience in acute and perioperative pain management.
Stephen Honig, MD
Specialties: Rheumatology, Metabolic Bone Disorders (osteoporosis)
Dr. Stephen Honig is the Director of the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Osteoporosis Center. His main research interests include defining fracture absolute fracture risk and bone strengthening treatment needs in the first decade of menopause and preventing recurrent fractures in patients with a history of fragility fractures. He is the principal investigator for the Osteoporosis New Model of Care Program and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine.
Robert Lind, MD
Specialties: Endocrinology, Metabolic Bone Disorders (osteoporosis)
Dr. Lind is the medical director of the Diabetes Foot and Ankle Center at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is board certified in endocrinology, and is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. His clinical interests include osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. He has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis, thyroid disease, parathyroid disease, hypercalcemia, growth hormone deficiency, and hypogonadism.
Leon Rybak , MD
Specialties: Musculoskeletal Radiology
Dr. Leon Rybak is a board certified radiologist who completed a fellowship in Musuloskeletal Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Rybak has previously worked as an attending radiologist at both the Massachusetts General Hospital as well as the Hospital for Special Surgery. He presently serves as the Acting Section Chief and Fellowship Director for Musculoskeletal Radiology at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. His areas of interest include image guided intervention, tumors of the musculoskeletal system and fracture healing.
