The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases moved up two notches in the 2008 "America’s Best Hospitals” edition of U.S. News and World Report to number eight, as compared with number ten last year. Only 170 hospitals in the country, out of 5,453 considered, scored high enough to appear in any of the 16 specialty rankings.
