The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases has been ranked in the top 10 list of orthopaedic facilties nationwide in the 2009 "America’s Best Hospitals” edition of U.S. News and World Report. Only 170 hospitals in the country, out of 5,453 considered, scored high enough to appear in any of the 16 specialty rankings. In addition, NYU Langone Medical Center was featured in the "Honor Roll" of America's best overall hospitals, an honor awarded to only 21 hospitals, or two-fifths of one percent of all hospitals surveyed by the magazine.
