The NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is happy to announce a new partnership with Bellevue Hospital Center and the New York City Department of Education. Partners for Youth (click for link to brochure) is a new, comprehensive sports medicine program for NYC Department of Education students who are injured during participation in Public School Athletic League (PSAL) games.
Partners for Youth will provide injured students 24-hour, seven day a week access to the unsurpassed orthopaedic care provided by NYUHJD orthopaedic physicians. In addition, uninsured students will not be turned away but will be eligible for an affordable, reduced-fee health care program. Department physicians Dr. Dennis Cardone and Dr. Colleen Fay, Co-Directors of Partners for Youth, are proud of their new role in insuring the safety and wellness of student athletes in one of the largest public school athletic leagues in the nation.
