Department Welcomes New Faculty Members

The Department is happy to welcome four new faculty members this summer. They are:

Alice Chu MD joins the Department as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics. She recently completed her Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases under the direction of Wallace Lehman MD and David Feldman MD. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital and is a graduate of UMDNJ-NJ Medical School. Her research interests include ankle fracture malunions and upper extremity conditions. Elisheva H. Flink MD joins the Department as Clinical Assistant Professor specializing in Adult Orthopaedic Surgery. Most recently Dr. Flink was an Attending at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens and Queens Hospital Center. She will join NYU Langone Medical Center's Columbus Medical Institute in Rego Park, Queens and NYUHJD's Orthopaedic Department at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Claudette Lajam MD joins the Department as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Divison of  Adult Reconstructive Surgery specializing in hip and knee replacement. Dr. Lajam has a successful private practice in Queens, New York and will now move her offices to NYU Langone Medical Center's Columbus Medical Institute in Rego Park, Queens and our faculty practice offices in Rutherford Place. She completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute and her orthopaedic residency training at the Mayo Clinic. She is a graduate of Weill Cornell University Medical College. Her research interests include total joint arthroplasty, revision total joint arthroplasty and sports injuries as related to competitive cycling. Scott Marwin MD joins the Department as Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery in the Division of Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Most recently Dr. Marwin served as Associate Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he established a very busy practice performing the full spectrum of hip and knee replacement surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also Founder and President of the Long Island Joint Replacement Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Dr. Marwin has published numerous articles on a wide range of topics related to adult reconstructive surgery and joint replacement.  Dr. Marwin is available for inpatient and outpatient consultation at 212-598-7651 or scott.marwin@nyumc.org
