The Department would like to welcome Thorsten Kirsch, PhD newly appointed Vice Chair for Research and Director of the Musculoskeletal Research Center. Dr. Kirsch was formerly at the University of Maryland where he was the Director of Orthopaedic Research and the Musculoskeletal Laboratories.
Dr. Kirsch directs the newly formed Musculoskeletal Research Institute, encompassing the full array of orthopaedic and rheumatology research at NYU HJD. The Institute will foster existing collaborations between the groups and promote new synergies, as well as integrate our clinical and translational research efforts. Dr. Kirsch's arrival in February coincided with the completion of the total renovation of the Muscoleskeletal Research laboratories located at the NYU HJD facility.
