Department Welcomes New Faculty Member

The Department is happy to welcome back Dr. Roy Davidovitch, who distinguished himself in our residency program, as a new member of our Trauma Division. He has been appointed Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Davidovitch received his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. As a resident in our orthopaedic residency program he received the prestigious Frauenthal Award for Excellence in Clinical Research. He returns to NYU HJD after completing the Harvard Medical School Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. In addition Dr. Davidovitch completed an AO International Fellowship in Computer Assisted Trauma Surgery at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel.

Dr. Davidovitch's clinical focus will comprise all aspects of fracture surgery including pelvis and acetabulum fractures, hip reconstruction and replacement, complex fractures, minimally invasive fracture surgery and repair of non-unions and malunions. Dr. Davidovitch's research interests include computer navigated trauma surgery and evidence based medicine in the field of trauma.
