Objective

This introductory course on cataract surgery aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the skills required for successful phacoemulsification surgery.

The main highlights include didactic lectures on cataract surgical techniques as well as a phaco and suturing wet-lab utilizing the Kitaro artificial eye system. There will be one-one-faculty supervision in the wet-lab which will provide dedicated time to interact with the surgical faculty.

  • The main entrance to Bellevue is located at 27th St. and 1st Ave. Please show any photo ID to pass through security.
  • Enter through the atrium into the archway toward the emergency room.
  • Turn right at the ER into the rotunda (Pass the hospital police and café on the right).
  • Pass through the rotunda and take the “D” elevators to the 3rd floor.
