Occupational & Industrial Orthopedic Center Research

NYU Langone Occupational and Industrial Orthopedic Center consists of an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, ergonomists, and biomechanists who conducts clinical, ergonomics, and biomechanical research with the goal of preventing workplace disability related to musculoskeletal disorders. Our team focuses on the application of evidence-based guidelines, product design and evaluation, and human performance.

Our Ergonomic and Biomechanical Laboratory is used to conduct research, education, consultations, and product evaluations. The laboratory is equipped with a wireless electromyographic system, state-of-the art portable kinematic measurement equipment based on an inertial measurement system, and mathematical and kinematic analysis software.

In addition to their own work, students in both the MS program and PhD program have opportunities to serve as research assistants on faculty-directed research initiatives.
