Dr. Ilan E. Timor-Tritsch (RDMS)
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU School of Medicine and Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound Unit at NYU Hospitals Center since  June 1998.

Dr. Timor, a fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine,  is internationally recognized for his work in transvaginal ultrasound  and has received numerous awards for his work. He is widely published  and has written 175 original articles and reviews, 80 case reports and abstracts, 81 book chapters, and 10 books, of which  two were the first books in the world on the topic of transvaginal sonography. He has been invited to over 300 lectures and over 50 visiting Professor  lectures nationally and internationally. He is a member of many prestigious medical societies and organizations, has won many honors from medical societies, serves on the Board of the Ultrasound Accreditation Commission of the American Institute of Ultrasound  in Medicine. He organized the first five ultrasound conferences in New  York on the subject of transvaginal ultrasound here in the USA.

Dr. Monteagudo is internationally recognized for her work in obstetrical  and gynecological ultrasound and is one of the world's foremost experts  on ultrasonography of the fetal brain and multifetal pregnancy with two textbooks on these subjects to her credit. Dr. Monteagudo has published over 60 original articles and presented over 70 abstracts at national and international conferences. She is  also a fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and  a member of many prestigious medical societies and organizations, and  has won many honors from medical societies for her research on ultrasound  detection of malformations in the fetus. She is a board certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist with special interests in high-risk pregnancies, anomalies and 3D ultrasound.

Dr. Kristin Atkins
Dr. Kristin Atkins

Dr. Kristin Atkins joined the faculty in 2006. She is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After graduating with a BA from Davidson College and then with an MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School, she completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She went on to complete her fellowship training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. She has been recognized for her dedication to education. Dr. Atkins has a clinical interest in multiple gestation, abnormal fetal growth, preeclampsia and other maternal medical conditions.

Dr. Fereshteh Boozarjomehri brings exceptional skills in ultrasonography and an interest in preeclampsia research to the Division. She completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin Medical School and fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Judith Chervenak received her undergraduate degree from Fairfield University and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut. She completed her residency and internship training in obstetrics and gynecology at Bridgeport Hospital, then went on to a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey. Dr. Chervenak is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as maternal-fetal medicine. In 2003, she graduated from Fordham Law School and now combines Of Counsel duties in a medical malpractice firm with her clinical ambulatory care work in Bellevue Hospital.

Dr. Ashley S. Roman has been a member of the faculty since 2005. She is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and an Associate Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at NYU. After graduating from Princeton University and receiving her MD and Masters in Public Health from Tulane University, she completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA Center for Health Sciences and her fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Roman has published widely in the area of preterm birth and is the author or co-author of over 70 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, and book chapters. Her research interests include the prediction and prevention of spontaneous preterm birth, and she has focused in recent years on the use of omega-3 fatty acids for preventing preterm birth. Dr. Roman has been the recipient of multiple research and teaching awards and selected by her peers to be included in the “Best Doctors in America” database for 2007-2008. Her areas of specialty and interest include preterm birth, preeclampsia, fetal diagnosis and therapy, and the management of complex maternal medical conditions in pregnancy, including lupus and maternal cardiac disorders.
