Outpatient Psychiatry Program
The Outpatient Psychiatry Program provides expert yet affordable treatment to individuals suffering from a broad range of mental disorders or emotional problems, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, manic-depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and schizophrenia. In conjunction with the Department's renown faculty, physicians participating in the residency program of the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Medical Center evaluate each individual and recommend a treatment plan. Treatment options include individual or group psychotherapy, medication, or the combination. Psychiatrists then provide ongoing care as often as necessary. For those who prefer it, direct treatment with a member of the faculty is also available as an option.
The Sleep Disorders Consultation and Treatment Service provides a thorough evaluation of a full range of sleep problems including insomnia, nightmares, narcolepsy, sleepwalking, and restless legs syndrome. Both behavioral and medication treatments are available.
The treatment program provides a comprehensive and in-depth examination of a full range of sexual disorders, such as erectile disorder, premature ejaculation, male orgasmic disorder, female orgasmic and arousal disorders, vaginismus, dyspareunia, lack of desire, the unconsummated marriage and sexual incompatibility between partners. Experienced, skilled clinicians carry out treatment in complete confidence and in the best tradition of the doctor-patient relationship. The program, developed over the years to include the most recent advances in the field, ensures that couples and individuals who seek treatment receive individualized care appropriate to their condition
