14 East Cardiothoracic Surgery

Assistant Nurse Manager, Nights Flex: Beauty Ofori, RN

• 34 bed cardiothoracic surgical unit, which includes:
• 26 telemetry monitored beds
• 8 step down unit beds
• Primary patient population consists of adults and elderly pre and post-operative, including but not limited to:
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graph (CABG )
• Valve Repair/Replacements
• Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) Insertion
• Permanent pacemaker insertions
• Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD)
• Pneumonectomy
• Wedge Resections
• Lung Resections
• Care is focused on the postoperative recovery phase and discharge to the appropriate setting to continue optimal care
• Evidence based practice patient care
• No prior telemetry experience required
• 8 weeks orientation with both clinical and classroom training taught by our masters prepared nursing staff education department
• Precepted to both areas of the unit during orientation
• As a 14 East staff member, you will become part of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with:
