- The Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit is a 28-bed Inpatient Acute Care Unit which provides comprehensive services to children and adolescents with various disabilities.
- Primary patient population consists of pediatric patients who require acute physical rehabilitation which includes but not limited to the following Acute and Congenital illnesses:
- Neuromuscular Diseases such as Cerebral Palsy
- Rhizotomy
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Brain Tumor
- Brain Injuries
- Multiple Trauma
- Autoimmune Diseases
- Orthopedics
- Spina bifida
- Guillain- Barre Syndrome
- Transverse Myelitis
- AVM
- Sickle Cell Disease
- Moya Moya
- Patient Care is family-centered and care planning is individualized. The care delivery is provided by the Interdisciplinary Team which involves the following members:
- Nursing
- Physiatrist
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech and Language Pathology
- Social Work
- Psychology
- Therapeutic Recreation
- Horticultural Therapy
- Vocational Rehab
- Board of Education
- Nutritionists
- Pastoral Care
- Nursing Focus involves the education of the patient and family, pain and medication management, wound care, and discharge planning. Nursing participates in the weekly evaluation/re-evaluation of the patient’s progress with the other interdisciplinary team members.
- Nursing Staff: Nurses and Nurse Attendants are competent in the care of the pediatric patients
- Nurses are Wee-Fim certified
- Nursing Attendants are CNA-certified
- Evidenced-based practice patient care

- 8-weeks orientation includes clinical and classroom experiences
