HCC-13 Cardiac and Vascular Center

The Cardiac and Vascular Institute, HCC-13, is a 16-bed unit with 10 intermediate care beds and 6 telemetry monitored beds.

This is a dynamic, exciting unit where you will utilize your knowledge and experience in caring for patients after the following procedures:

• Coronary and peripheral angiograms/angioplasties/stents
• Electrophysiological studies/Ablation Procedures
• Implantable Defibrillator and Single/ Biventricular ICD and Pacemakers
• Treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease
• Post-op vascular surgical patients
• Post tumor and fibroid embolizations, mediport placements, paracentesis/thoracentesis.
• Post-cerebral angiograms
• Medical treatment for CHF, arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, endocarditis

Our nurses deliver high quality patient care with a focus on patient and family education and this is reflected on our patient satisfaction surveys that consistently reveal high scores. We work collaboratively with unit-based nurse practitioners, physicians, and other members of the health team, and are involved in collaborative quality performance improvement projects. This is a unit where collegiality and teamwork are a way of life.
