- 13-bed monitored pediatric intensive care unit
- Pediatric patient population from infancy to 18 years of age predominately post-operative, including but not limited to:
- Repairs of congenital heart disease
- Neurosurgery / Epilepsy monitoring
- Cranial Facial reconstruction
- Complex orthopedic surgery
- General pediatric surgery
- Unstable pediatric oncology patients
- Pediatric medical patients requiring specialized care
- Care is focused on the postoperative recovery phase. The patients are admitted directly from the OR and discharge to the appropriate setting to continue optimal care. Medical patients are monitored and managed until stable and then discharged to the appropriate setting
- Evidence based practice patient care
- As a PICU staff member you will collaborate and become part of the interdisciplinary team
- Previous experience in the PICU as a student or pediatric experience as a staff nurse preferred
- 12 weeks orientation with both clinical and classroom training taught by our nursing education department for new graduates and 8 weeks orientation for experienced staff
- Precepted on the unit by PICU staff members during orientation
