Faculty Subspecialization
The practice of neurosurgery has become too complex for neurosurgeons to be an expert in all facets of neurosurgical practice. The Department of Neurosurgery has therefore been organized along subspecialty lines.
Most of the faculty members below confine their practice to a specific area of neurosurgery. This enables them to obtain a large clinical experience and expertise that results in superior patient care. At Bellevue and the Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospitals, faculty with special clinical expertise provide authoritative assistance and advice to residents in the management of patients in the faculty member's area of interests.
