Residency training in neurosurgery at the New York University Medical Center is six years after a one year internship. It is designed to provide residents with increasing clinical and surgical responsibility over the course of their training, and to prepare graduates for an academic neurosurgical career, a high-quality practice in the private sector, or further training in a subspecialty fellowship.
