Many malignant brain tumors may require treatment with chemotherapy and/or radiation. Following surgery, cases involving brain tumors at NYU are discussed at the multidisciplinary tumor board. In attendance at this meeting are neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, neuro-pathologists, and radiation oncologists. This allows a team approach to recommending postoperative treatment strategy. Final decisions regarding recommendations for treatment with radiation and chemotherapy are made by the radiation oncologist and the neuro-oncologist respectively.
