VA New York Harbor Healthcare System

The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (Formerly known as Manhattan Veterans Administration Medical Center) is the primary neurosurgical referral center for over 1,000,000 eligible veterans in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and southern New York State. Approximately 200 operations are performed yearly with particular emphasis on degenerative spine disease.

A 12-bed ICU is shared with cardiac and general surgery and is supplemented by a four-bed neurosurgery step-down unit. There are 17 inpatient beds on a combined neurology/neurosurgery floor. Specialty neurosurgery clinics in peripheral nerve surgery, movement disorders, and surgical pain management are also available.
