Vascular New Technologies Avanto Whole Body MRA Amongst the advances incorporated into the new 1.5T Avanto system are the combination of multicoil and multichannel (76 x 32) capabilities and the ability to move the table a full 205 cm (6 ft 9 in!). Using the following coil set up:
We can perform whole body MR angiography using a series of four 3D interpolated spoiled gradient echo sequences with iPAT factor 3. Each station is 40 – 45 cm depending on the patient’s height, and with imaging matrix of 512, voxel size at each station is approximately 0.8 x 1.2 x 1.5 mm in acquisition times of approximately 10 sec per station. With automatic subtraction and MIPs, the entire protocol leading to whole body MRA can be performed in under 30 minutes.
