Avanto Complete Spine Imaging

Amongst the advances incorporated into the new 1.5T Avanto system are the combination of multicoil and multichannel (76 x 32) capabilities and the ability to move the table a full 205 cm (6 ft 9 in!).

Total body imaging can be customized for spine or musculoskeletal imaging using a series of 4 steps from the head to the toes. At each step, because of the improvements in coil design, sequences can be run with iPAT factors of 2 – 3 with superb image quality and signal to noise. The total body scan can be performed in under 30 minutes.

Image Composer software enables the user to “paste” together acquisitions from each of the stations for a whole body image (and allows the user to make slight adjustments if the images do not line up perfectly). This program requires that the image matrix, field of view and slice thickness match at each step.
