Secretin Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP): Sample Case

Findings

 

 

Movie 1: Patient was given oral contrast at the beginning of the study to null fluid signal in the stomach and proximal small bowel. After administration of IV secretin, pancreatic secretion is visualized as accumulation of fluid (pancreatic juice) in the duodenum. There is no evidence of pancreatic divisum. Also noted are multiple cystic lesions of the liver and pancreas.

 

 

 

Diagnosis

 

 

Normal duodenal filling following secreting injection. Multiple cystic lesions in the pancreas which appear to be connected with pancreatic ducts, compatible with IPMT or chronic pancreatitis. No evidence of pancreas divisium.
