Francis Pelham MD, Director, Microsurgery Laboratory
Dr. Pelham received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. In 1995 he was appointed director of the newly established Microsurgery Laboratory at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. The Laboratory, which centers on repairing severed nerves and blood vessels in severely injured and amputated extremities, serves as a training ground for orthopaedic residents and fellows in microsurgical techniques. In 1999 a research component was added that is exploring improvements in methods of replantation surgery.
