Sally Frenkel PhD
Dr. Frenkel received her doctorate from New York University and began conducting research in the Musculoskeletal Research Center in 1989. She was appointed Director of the Cartilage Transplantation Laboratory in 1996. Among her research interests are bone and cartilage induction and repair using growth factors and other biomaterials, embryonic chondrogenesis and osteogenesis, and tissue engineering for articular cartilage repair. Dr. Frenkel is Research Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Cell Biology at the New York University School of Medicine and Visiting Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the City University of New York.
