Meditation

Meditation describes a state of concentrated attention on some object of thought or awareness. It usually involves turning the attention inward to the mind itself.

Beginners usually focus their mind on their breath, as it enters and leaves their nostrils or on the rise and fall of their belly and chest with each in-breath and each out-breath.

The benefits are many. Often we find ourselves worrying about what we could have or should have done in the past to worrying about things that have not yet occurred and may never occur. Meditation helps the mind rest in the present moment, affecting our perceptions of our past and future.
