Angus Wilson, Ph.D.

Dr. Wilson is also a member of the NYU Cancer Institute and NYU Center For AIDS Research. His lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying the establishment and escape from latency by human herpesviruses, with emphasis on the control of viral and cellular gene expression through transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms. This work includes studies of virus-host interactions involved in the pathogenesis of two AIDS-associated malignancies; Kaposi’s sarcoma and pleural effusion lymphoma.

Education and General Information

Undergraduate Education: B.Sc. in Genetics, University of St. Andrews, Scotland.

Graduate Education: Dr. Wilson received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Kings College, University of London, in 1990.

Post Doctoral Training: Dr. Wilson was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Winship Herr at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York (1991-1996).
