The Adult ADHD Program is an interdisciplinary program at the NYU
School of Medicine, specializing in the treatment of adults with
ADHD. The program has been providing clinical care and treatment
for patients with ADHD since 1995; its focus on adult patients provides
a unique specialization in the New York City metropolitan area.
Over two hundred patients are treated on an ongoing basis in the
program. Ongoing clinical trials of investigational medications
in ADHD are also part of the clinical mission of the program. The
program has carried out many trials with stimulant and non-stimulant
medications, including norepinephrine and mixed norepinephrine /
dopamine re-uptake inhibitors and a methylphenidate isomer. Current
trials include investigations of novel non-stimulant and stimulant
medications.
The Adult ADHD program at New York University School of Medicine
recently began publishing a newsletter entitled Adult ADHD: Issues
and Answers. This newsletter is the first of its kind as it is the
first up-to-date newsletter for clinicians that is solely devoted
to covering the latest advancements in the diagnosis and treatment
of Adult ADHD. All issues can be downloaded from: http://www.med.nyu.edu/psych/psychiatrist/adultadhdnewsletter.html
