Inpatient Clinical Services Consolidation

Consolidation of inpatient clinical services at Tisch and at Bellevue Hospitals. This has not only improved an already high standard of patient-care delivery, but is exposing division fellows to an even wider spectrum of medical cases than before.

Lynne Cohen Project

The launching in 2001 of the Lynne Cohen Project for women at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer, under the direction of Dr. Franco Muggia (Medicine) and Dr. John Curtin (ObGyn). Dr. Julia Smith directs the Project’s Breast Cancer Screening & Prevention activities, for which she received a Chemotherapy Foundation award in 2004.

Symposium Hosting

The hosting of the Ninth International Symposium on Platinum Coordination Complexes in Cancer Treatment, in October 2003. The highly successful symposium resulted in the publication of several important papers.

NYU Clinical Cancer Center

The opening of the NYU Clinical Cancer Center of the NYU Cancer Institute in 2004 and of the Bellevue Cancer Center in the hospital’s new state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility in spring 2005.
