Podocyte Biology
The NYU Division of Nephrology is part of a multicenter study to "bank" kidney biopsy specimens from patients with glomerular diseases that affect the podocyte. These kidney specimens are linked to a clinical database and both the kidney biopsies and clinical information will be used to address questions that relate to these diseases.
Collapsing GlomerulopathyCollapsing glomerulopathy has become an important cause of end-stage renal disease within the last two decades. Trials are being planned to determine whether directly targeting the pathogenic proliferation of renal parenchyma in collapsing glomerulopathy may benefit patients with this clinically aggressive proliferative podocytopathy.
