Manish Ponda explores barrier to atherosclerosis in patients with chronic kidney disease

Manish Ponda, MD

In a new clinical study, Dr. Manish Ponda of NYU Langone Medical Center and The Rockefeller University Hospital is examining patients with moderately reduced kidney function to investigate the effect of vitamin D therapy on endotoxemia.

Dr. Ponda suspects vitamin D's effects on endotoxin may play a role in heading off atherosclerosis in people with chronic kidney disease.
