Internal Medicine "Speed Dating"
Date: Weds. April 2nd, 2008, 6-7 p.m.
Location: Student Cafeteria
Groups of students will be positioned at various tables and a group of physicians will circulate, stopping at each table. The physicians will be allocated a certain amount
of time at each table to answer questions from students regarding their specialty.
Medical Mysteries
Date: TBA
A physician from an internal medicine specialty will present various cases and hopefully get participation from the students on what the diagnosis was. The physician will talk through the cases, discussing the symptoms, diagnosis, and resolution of the cases.
Infectious Disease Panel
Date: TBA
A panel of doctors and researchers will talk about the various opportunities within infectious disease. The panel will discuss travel, clinical, and research opportunities. In addition, the panel will give examples of some common infectious diseases and their possible treatments.
Internal Medicine 4th year match panel

We expect to hold a panel consisting of recently matched 4th years to discuss with students the process of applying for a residency in internal medicine and their personal
experiences.
Officer Transition Dinner

Transition dinner for the newly elected officers at the end of next year.

Introduction to Internal Medicine Event (Novemeber):
A dinner lecture with a brief introduction of the internal medicine interest group followed by a panel of physicians and researchers speaking on range of opportunities available in Internal Medicine. The speakers will include a cardiologist, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, and researcher.
National Primary Care Round Table with AMSA (October)
This panel discussion serves as AMSA's introduction to National Primary Care Week, an event dedicated to providing information, guidance, and practical examples and workshops focused on primary care, but also pertinent to issues faced by all physicians.
National Primary Care Week thus addresses issues relevant to all medical students, regardless of their plans to specialize or enter primary Care. Specifically, this panel will include clinicians trained in family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
