Edmund J. Bini, MD

Dr. Edmund Bini was appointed to a 3-year term on the Editorial Board of the journal Gastroenterology starting in July 2007. Gastroenterology is the leading journal in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology, with an impact factor of 12.4.

Edmund J. Bini, MD, MPH is the Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine. As the Director of Research in the Division of Gastroenterology at the NYU School of Medicine, Dr Bini oversees all research activities in the Division, serves as a research mentor for fellows, residents, and medical students, and also finds appropriate mentors for individuals who are interested in research.

His research interests include liver diseases (especially viral hepatitis) and colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Bini serves as a manuscript reviewer for numerous prestigious journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Archives of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology, and others. In addition to serving as a member of the Editorial Boards for the World Journal of Gastroenterology and Digestive and Liver Disease, he has also served as a member of the Editorial Board of Current Hepatitis Reports since 2002.
