Humanistic Aspects of Medical Education
The responses of medical students confronting death, suffering, and grief should be examined and acknowledged as part of their educational experience. Weekly small-group seminars provide a unique opportunity in the course of medical education for students to identify and reflect on these and other educational issues and to consider the implications of these experiences for their developing sense of themselves as doctors.
