Services covered include leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, gastrointestinal oncology, allogenic bone-marrow transplant, and genitourinary/head and neck cancer. Each team is led by an attending physician with expertise in the specific cancer usually includes a hematology/oncology fellow.
House staff members learn about the medical complications of their patients' cancer diagnosis or therapy and benefit from managing a diverse array of both common and unusual medical problems. Strong emphasis is placed on education, including a daily morning report and a midday lecture. Residents are also welcome to do an elective in one of the many outpatient clinics.
